Pia found stability and a strong competitive edge in entrepreneurship through SEO
In the autumn of 2023, Pia Kojo stood at the edge of a new beginning. After a couple of years of part-time freelancing as a copywriter and content creator, she had just registered her own business and stepped fully into entrepreneurship.
"I already had a few long-term regular clients, but the future was still wide open," Pia shares. Although she had client work to do, the direction of her business wasn’t yet fully clear.
She was familiar with the world of content creation and copywriting, but Pia was looking for something that would bring clarity and a competitive edge to her services.
“There are quite a lot of content creators and copywriters out there, so I wanted something that would expand my service offering and bring more value to my clients,” she explains.
Pia had tried several online courses, but they never quite hit the mark. Often, they felt disconnected from her actual business.
“Some of them were really good, but in the end, I’d realize, ‘This might not actually fit with my company,’” she says honestly.
The idea of offering SEO as a service began to spark interest, but the decision to join a training program wasn’t made lightly.
“A three-month program is a big commitment, especially alongside client work. I was worried it might just end up gathering dust in a drawer.”
Eventually, a recommendation from a colleague gave her the nudge she needed.
A clear structure and personal support throughout the program
Right from the start of the program, Pia noticed a difference.
“One of the biggest surprises was how much support we got from the coach,” she says. The coaching team was consistently present, and progress was tracked weekly.
“Noora always checked in to see how things were going. It made everything feel really safe.”
The program was clearly structured and focused on what truly mattered. “There was nothing unnecessary, everything was built logically.” But the best part? Learning happened in the context of her own real project. During the program, Pia developed her own website and completed a full-scale SEO project in practice.
The values of Women in SEO Academy made an impression
What stood out to Pia was how strongly the program emphasized ethics and client-centricity.
“There are so many ways to do SEO, and it was such a relief to learn that it can be done in a truly responsible way, so I can stand behind my choices.”
This gave her confidence, not only in doing the work but also in selling her services.
Real results brought confidence and showed the potential
Before offering SEO services to clients, Pia tested her skills on her own business.
During the Growth with SEO® program, she optimized her own site and waited to see what would happen.
And the results came. “It was maybe four to six months later when I started getting inbound inquiries.” Her site climbed to the top of the search results and stayed there.
“To this day, I’m still number one on a key keyword for one of my main services.”
The clients who found her through Google weren’t just clicks, they were high-quality leads that turned into meetings and projects.
“They often tell me they found me through Google and loved my writing style so they reached out because of that.”
SEO became a natural part of her copywriting and content services
After the course, SEO didn’t stay a separate skill, it blended seamlessly into Pia’s service offering.
“It just flowed naturally into my services, effortlessly.”
New clients began to see SEO as a valuable addition to her content and copywriting skills.
“SEO skills were absolutely the decisive factor in landing one of my biggest clients,” Pia says. “And because of that, the collaboration has now lasted over a year.”
Her journey into entrepreneurship became more stable and consistent.
“Now I have a sense of security and steadiness, because I have this one valuable, in-demand service that perfectly complements what I already do.”
